Minds, Mothers, and Midwives: The Psychology of Childbirth

Joyce Prince and Margaret Adams

Carmel Bagness, RCN Professional Lead Midwifery & Women's Health

Reason you chose this book

When I started training as a midwife over 30 years ago, I had 1 book (no internet); Myles Textbook for Midwives, and then I discovered Mayes Textbook, most of my academic learning came from there, and talking to mothers and midwives. We still have current editions of Mayes and of Myles, and I subsequently went on to contribute to one of them.

Review

Minds, Mothers, and Midwives: The Psychology of Childbirth followed by The psychology of childbirth. An introduction for mothers and midwives really impressed me…it really opened up a new world – I could go on…Thanks for opening a memory.
