Make the most of your membership by attending a Local Learning Event in the West Midlands

If you are an RCN member in the West Midlands, you can make your membership subscription go further by taking part in learning and development opportunities organised by your RCN branch. These are called Local Learning Events (LLEs).
Your branch holds regular LLEs in your area. Delivered as an expert presentation, talk or workshop, the events are designed to support your continuing professional development (CPD), boosting your knowledge and skills and helping you to provide high-quality patient care.
Free to you as an RCN member - thanks to the support of LV= Liverpool Victoria - each LLE typically lasts around 90 minutes. You receive a certificate for your CPD portfolio after each event you attend. If you’re a registered nurse or midwife, attendance at an LLE helps you to demonstrate that you are keeping your knowledge and skills up to date in accordance with the standards of conduct, performance and ethics set out in your professional code.
Attending an LLE also counts towards the required amount of CPD that registered professionals must complete to revalidate. Revalidation is the process by which nurses and midwives declare and demonstrate to the NMC every three years that they remain fit to practise and stay on the NMC register. Some of the LLEs are followed by an opportunity to write a reflective account, thus meeting another requirement of revalidation.
