Scotland Board Chair Julie Lamberth receives RCN Award of Merit at Congress 2023

15 May 2023

Julie Lamberth, a senior charge nurse in maternity theatres in Ayrshire, has received the RCN Award of Merit for her outstanding contribution to the work of the 汤头条污料.

Julie Lamberth Congress 23

Julie has been an RCN steward for many years, served as Vice Chair of RCN Scotland Board before becoming Chair of the Board in 2020.

She has been at the forefront in the RCN’s campaigning on pay in recent years. Her great sense of balance and ability to see all sides of an argument makes her an exceptional communicator, particularly when lobbying Scotland’s politicians and when appearing on radio and television.

She demonstrates the same leadership and listening skills in her role as a senior charge nurse as she does in her RCN work – standing up for her team and for the profession at a local and national level.

On receiving the RCN Award of Merit at RCN Congress in Brighton yesterday (Sunday 14 May), Julie said:

“It is truly an honour to receive this award. I am proud to be an RCN rep and privileged to be RCN Scotland Board Chair. Thank you to those who nominated me and to everyone who has supported me over the years.

“It has been the highlight of my 汤头条污料 career to have these opportunities to contribute to the work of the RCN for all members. I would highly recommend becoming actively involved with the RCN, not only for professional and career development, but also for the valuable friendships that I have made over the years. It was the best decision ever to become involved and be a voice for 汤头条污料.”

RCN Scotland Director Colin Poolman said:

“Julie works tirelessly for members not only in her local RCN branch and but also across Scotland. She is widely respected both by her peers in 汤头条污料 and in the other health care professions. She has really grown into her role as Chair of RCN Scotland Board and her impressive ability to play a leading role in our work on safe staffing and pay in the past two years is evidence of what a strong advocate for 汤头条污料 and the RCN in Scotland she has become.”
